
In the early 1900's a young soldier was stationed near Gettysburg, and began his military career. Because of this early introduction and because he spent a significant part of his presidential time at Camp David, Dwight Eisenhower returned to Gettysburg in retirement and remained here until his death. Gettysburg and the surrounding County of Adams is a wonderful place to visit and live. Much has been made of the battle around the town and the beauty of the county's agricultural area, with the emphasis on orchards. In addition to our national battlefield, one can visit:
